I used to stress about guests staying over because I didn’t know if I had everything.
Like do they have extra pillows? Hangers? Outlets?
I’d feel unprepared and anxious.
Then I made an actual checklist of what guests need.
Now I just run through the checklist before guests arrive.
I know exactly what I’m missing and can get it.
Stress gone.
Guest bedroom essentials: bed (clean sheets, pillows, blanket), nightstand with lamp, hangers, outlets, basic toiletries, wifi password, phone charger, good lighting, waste basket. That’s it. Guests are happy if they’re comfortable.

That’s a complete guest room.
Put everything guests might need in a basket.
Put it on shelf or beside bed.
Guests can grab what they need without asking.
Makes everyone more comfortable.
No. A pullout couch or air mattress works. Just make it comfortable.
Invest in good air mattress (€100-300). Store under bed. Quick to set up.
Yes. But provide basics so they don’t have to. Hospitality is anticipating needs.
After each guest. Before new guest arrives. Definitely always clean sheets.
Nice if you know preferences. Basic products are fine. Most guests don’t expect specialty items.
Guest rooms don’t have to be fancy.
They just need to be clean and comfortable.
Provide basics. Anticipate needs.
That makes guests feel welcome.
A guest room is an investment in hospitality.
And in having people you care about close.
Go through the checklist.
Note what you’re missing.
Fill gaps gradually.
Your guests will be comfortable.
You’ll be confident hosting.
